Communion...common unity. Christians can come from all different walks of life but the one thing that we all have in common happens to be the greatest truth the world has ever heard...Jesus Christ crucified, buried and resurrected. All Christians have that in common...to not believe that is to not be a Christian. We come to the table of bread and wine to remember the suffering and agony of our hero. We come to this table to realize we are all equal. There are no seats of honor at this table, no order of importance...just the powerful truth that we are all messed up sinners in need of salvation. We should partake of this meal in sobriety and thankfulness but never in condemnation. The meal is to remind us of God's love and forgiveness and in the midst of hardships we have each other to lean on and cheer on!
