about

Let’s face it, the older we get the more burdened we become. At times all of our excuses, mistakes and botched relationships catch up with us and in that moment we long for the innocence and the simplicity of a child. My hope is in that moment when it “all comes crashing down” we are faced with the reality of Jesus…someone who is patient, understanding and able to hold the authority of forgiveness: death and resurrection are good for that. “Save Me” is a plea that when nothing on the outside changes, something on the inside will.

lyrics

What am I doing?
Who have I been foolin'?
When will I open up my eyes?
My life was soaring
I ignored all the warnings
And now I'm left standing in the wake of my pride.

I'm desperate for simple
I'm leaving my temple
And aching now just to feel the wind...feel the wind
When life was simple
I didn't need a temple
I was unashamed and light was my friend.

Innocence...I'm looking for innocence.

I lived my excuses for way too long.
Can somebody save me?
I worn out my welcome behind prison bars
Can somebody save me?
I'm believing for the first time in a long long time
That somebody can save me tonight.

I'm packing my bags now
Heading to the west side
And I'm not leaving 'til I feel the change

Through the tears and neutral gears
and messed up fears
I'm prayin' for a brand new name!

I lived my excuses for way too long.
Can somebody save me?
I worn out my welcome behind prison bars
Can somebody save me?
I'm believing for the first time in a long, long time
That somebody can save me tonight.
